Scottish Reining
Reining in Scotland tends to run hand in hand with the WES shows and British reining. There are reining classes at all WES shows in Scotland and are well worth watching. British reining is the governing body for the sport in the UK and is affiliated to the FEI, the BEF and NRHA. Responsibilities include coaching development, sport promotion, show affiliation, horse and rider welfare, health and safety as well as child protection. This sport, represented at the World Equestrian Games, is a fast growing exciting sport. The rule book defines reining as : " To rein a horse is not only to guide him, but also to control his every movement. The best reining horse should be willingly guided and controlled with little or no apparent resistence and dictated to completely."
